Sydney is a Senior Software Developer at CNN with over five years of experience. Originally a television news producer, she discovered a passion for coding and left broadcasting for a career in web development. Her journey came full circle when she returned to CNN to build web applications for the same teams she once covered elections with.
Sydney is passionate about tech and hopes to inspire young women of color to pursue careers in the industry. When she’s not coding, you can catch her volunteering with Black Girls Code as a Tech Assistant. She is also apart of the leadership team for Women Who Code and has been featured as a panelist for the organization. She is a familiar face around local tech meet-ups, but if you don’t find her there, she is probably chasing after her two sons, Leland and August.
Intensive knowledge in Javascript, React, Node.js, Express.js, MongoDB, AWS, Docker and RESTful APIs.
